About Me
With creativity, anything is possible.
Even at a young age I was attracted to the arts and computers. It is easy to say I just take after my mother, who is 100% the creative type, left-handed, and majored in computer science. However, really the left-handed myth of creativity is just that, a myth. There is a definite appeal for me to the unlimited possibilities of creativity allowed within design and web development when compared to more rigid areas of study in mathematics, history and science.
I obtained my Bachelor's in Fine Arts at Wright State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Then I decided to expand my career into the graphic and web design field by attending the School of Advertising Art (now called The Modern College of Design) in Kettering. I graduated in the top 10 of my class with an Associate in Applied Business in Design. Then I went straight into working full time as a Web Master and Graphic Designer at a warehouse fulfillment center in Centerville, Ohio, running their eCommerce channels and website. After that I switched to the Higher Education industry working at a community college as a web developer.
Now many years later, I have over 10 years of solid experience and mastery of designing, developing, and improving websites. My specialty is managing and optimizing online brand presence, web content quality and accessibility, marketing analytics and search engine optimization (SEO), and UI/UX. I can conceptualize, draw, wire frame or prototype, design, front-end code, and launch a complete website, including designing custom logos, font or SVG icons, CSS or JS animation, and other graphic medias.

A continual cycle of evaluation and improvements.
Every time I build from scratch, relaunch a website, or take on a new web design project, I use this tried and true process for success:
Research
- Define expectations and audiences
- Determine goals and vision
- Research analytics and user behavior
- Write technical requirements
- Plan timeline and inventory resources
Develop
- Conceptualize design and sitemap
- Review designs and audience focus groups
- Finalize graphics and architecture
- Setup server, domain, and platform
- Develop code, templates, and framework
- Polish and input content
Launch
- User testing functionality and performance
- Test accessibility and quality standards
- Test cross-browser and cross-devices
- Prep final server and do final review
- File hand off and client training
Maintain
As I maintain websites, I use my process in a compressed iterative workflow. Designs, components and page templates all get improved on a continual cycle. I also constantly use tools to check on the website's health with:
- Speed/device performance
- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Content quality
- Web accessibility (ADA compliance)
- Usability and traffic flow
- Conversion rates

I also know how to connect and incorporate into an eCommerce website check out shipping methods, including FedEx, UPS, and USPS.

So what magic can I work for you?
The bulk of my experience and day-to-day work is as a webmaster. A webmaster is sometimes also called a web coordinator, website administrator, or website architect. Their skills mostly are on the front-end of web development, with web design skills, but they also can fulfill marketing needs and SEO.
One of the key skills and abilities a webmaster also has is to provide vision and direction for developing the front-end of a website as a whole. They usually have a set of standards, goals, and a development plan with strategy.
Most of my freelance work is for smaller projects. One off projects every so often. I love to sketch out logos and icons, then turn them into vector art.
